Zaar is a fantastic idea, and they came to Switch for help in turning it into reality.
A collaboration between the Malta Business Bureau and the University of Malta resulted in the Foundation for the Promotion of Entrepreneurial Initiatives. Their first offering was simple: create a brand for a local donations/reward-based crowdfunding resource.
Starting from the very beginning, we worked hand-in-hand with our clients to mould what would eventually be known as Zaar. The name we settled on has its origins in the Maltese word used to refer to loose change – żagħar. The name was simplified and Anglicised to facilitate communication and allow the opportunities net to be cast wider.
We explored several routes in the design process, however all fell under the same umbrella, mainly that they should be fun, youthful and contemporary – as most entrepreneurs are.
Once we had the design locked down, we created two animated videos aimed at the two groups of people who would be interacting with Zaar, the entrepreneurs and the supporters.
