Being different has always been our mantra. When approached by the Malta Communications Authority and asked to design their annual report, it was no different. Even in an annual report, we see the opportunity for beauty and in this case we approached it with a fresh mind.
Switching (pun intended) to the unconventional aesthetic a couple of years back, we wanted to keep the tradition of using uncoated FSC certified paper, something which was new to the corporate world. We felt the need to respect the environment, whilst still grabbing every opportunity to be quirky and fun.
Understanding the consumer is monumental, as it reflects on the planning process from start to finish. This was the first time that divider pages were introduced in this context; in this case, they was purposely designed on thicker paper and placed between each chapter. We wanted each divider to present a synopsis of the subsequent chapter. This way, the reader could easily skim through each chapter within a few minutes and understand its content.
Having designed many reports for MCA, we always wanted to be better than the previous year, and this year was no exception.
